APC Official Warns VeryDarkMan Against Slander

ABUJA — The South South Zonal Organizing Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Blessing Agbomhere, has cautioned social media personality Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, to distinguish between activism and defamation.

Agbomhere demanded that VeryDarkMan issue a public apology to Senate President Godswill Akpabio for what he described as an unjustified and defamatory criticism. The influencer had condemned Akpabio’s recent trip to the Vatican as the leader of a federal delegation attending Pope Francis’ funeral. In a widely circulated video, VeryDarkMan questioned Akpabio’s priorities, arguing that he should have visited Nigerian states affected by violence instead.

In response, Agbomhere released a statement accusing the influencer of repeatedly engaging in slander and blackmail under the guise of activism. He defended Akpabio’s attendance at the funeral, stating it was a national assignment from President Bola Tinubu, who considered Akpabio a suitable representative.

Agbomhere emphasized the symbolic importance of Nigeria’s participation in global events and criticized what he called an attack on the integrity of national leadership. He issued a one-week ultimatum for VeryDarkMan to retract his comments and apologize.

He also urged the public to disregard VeryDarkMan’s remarks, stressing that the current administration is actively addressing the country’s security challenges. Agbomhere noted that President Tinubu, after returning from overseas engagements, met with security chiefs and directed them to implement new strategies to combat insecurity.

According to him, while results may take time, the administration remains committed to restoring peace across the nation.
