Arsenal Criticized Over Midfield Replacement Strategy.

Arsenal is facing criticism for their reported

decision to replace Thomas Partey with Brentford’s Christian Norgaard. Former footballer Gabby Agbonlahor expressed disappointment with the move, suggesting the club is not aiming high enough in the transfer market.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Agbonlahor said: “Norgaard is a decent player, but replacing Partey with him seems underwhelming. It feels like Arsenal are shopping in lower-tier markets, unlike clubs like Manchester City or Liverpool.”

The Gunners are reportedly close to finalizing a deal for Norgaard as Partey prepares to leave when his contract expires. However, Norgaard is expected to be a squad player rather than a direct replacement in the starting lineup. Arsenal is also set to bring in Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, who is anticipated to become their primary defensive midfielder.

Meanwhile, Arsenal continues to strengthen their squad, with Mikel Arteta targeting additional signings, including striker Benjamin Sesko. Other potential acquisitions include Cristhian Mosquera and goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.
