Ayodeji Akinde: From Church Choir to Afrobeats Aspirations.

Ayodeji Akinde’s musical journey began in the choir

of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, where he sang, played drums, and performed in annual concerts and choreographed presentations. These early experiences laid the groundwork for his artistic path.

In 2016, Akinde moved to the United States in search of broader opportunities. There, he discovered a deeper connection to music and realized it was more than a passion—it was his calling. “Now that I’ve found myself and my purpose, I’m back in Nigeria to pursue my dreams,” he said.

Inspired by the achievements of other artists and driven by his own creativity, Akinde released his debut single in 2018, launching his professional music career.

While his style is rooted in Afrobeats, Akinde’s Yoruba heritage remains central to his sound. His music is influenced by traditional rhythms and storytelling, even as he blends elements of Afro-fusion and trap.

He describes his songwriting as a mix of personal reflection, imagination, and life experiences. His songs are vibrant and uplifting, capturing his calm personality and dynamic energy.

Looking forward, Akinde envisions himself among the leading voices in African music. He aspires to collaborate with top artists and take Afrobeats to a global audience. For him, the dream is alive—and the journey is just beginning.
