As FC Barcelona start shaping their squad for next season under new manager Hansi Flick, the early indicators suggest some notable adjustments.
The club is not expected to make many signings, focusing primarily on bringing in a right-back and a midfielder.
On the other hand, several players are likely to leave as the club looks to trim the squad, free up wages, and raise funds through player sales.
Here are four players expected to depart in the 2025 summer transfer window:
Ansu Fati
A high-profile name on the exit list is Ansu Fati. After an underwhelming loan spell at Brighton & Hove Albion, he has failed to impress Flick and has barely featured this season—only nine appearances, with just two coming in 2025. Despite staying on in January to fight for a place, things haven’t improved. Fati has reportedly decided to move on, with his agent Jorge Mendes actively looking for a new destination.
Inaki Pena
Another La Masia product likely to leave is Inaki Pena. Although he began the season as the starting goalkeeper due to Ter Stegen’s injury, he has since been overtaken by Szczesny. With Ter Stegen returning soon and Szczesny expected to renew his contract, Pena is set to drop to third choice. His deal runs until 2026, but his recent change of agent suggests he’s preparing for a summer exit.
Andreas Christensen
With multiple centre-backs already at the club and the potential addition of Jonathan Tah, Barcelona are expected to offload a defender—likely Andreas Christensen. The Danish international has struggled with injuries and has made just one appearance this season. His contract ends in 2026, and no extension has been offered. Despite solid performances in the past, the club may cash in on him given Premier League interest.
Pau Victor
After a promising loan spell with Barça Atletic, Pau Victor joined permanently from Girona. While he impressed in pre-season, he hasn’t secured consistent minutes during the campaign. The 23-year-old has been included in matchday squads but has only totaled 265 minutes across 22 appearances, with just 45 minutes played in 2025. Although the club sees potential in him, a summer move—possibly a loan—looks likely.
