BREAKING: Akwa Ibom Governor Defects from PDP to APC.
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has officially left the Peoples Democr
atic Party (PDP) to join the All Progressives Congress (APC). He announced the decision on Friday at the Government House in Uyo, following three months of consultations with key stakeholders across the state.
Eno thanked the PDP for their support during his time in office but said it was time to make a progressive shift. He cited his respect for President Bola Tinubu and the importance of aligning Akwa Ibom with the federal government to secure continued development for the state.
The governor assured citizens that he remains committed to serving them regardless of party affiliation, stating, “After extensive consultations, I have decided to move to the APC. This move is not out of weakness but strength, to better align our state with the center.”
The announcement ceremony was attended by several APC governors, including Hope Uzodimma (Imo State), Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), Francis Nwifuru (Ebonyi), Lucky Aiyedatiwa (Ondo), and Bassey Otu (Cross River), among others.
