Chelsea Agree Deal to Sign Liam Delap.

Chelsea have reportedly moved

quickly to secure their first signing of the summer transfer window, agreeing terms to sign striker Liam Delap from Ipswich Town.

According to multiple sources, including David Ornstein and Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea will activate the £30 million relegation release clause in Delap’s contract. Negotiations with Ipswich were straightforward, but convincing the 22-year-old to join Chelsea required discussions about the club’s long-term vision, Champions League football, and the opportunity to reunite with coach Enzo Maresca.

The contract is yet to be signed, but no obstacles are expected in finalizing the agreement.

Chelsea fans can now look forward to welcoming Delap to the club after a season of speculation and competition from other clubs, including Manchester United.
