Chelsea Fans’ Preferred Lineup Against Benfica for Club World Cup.

The knockout rounds of the FIFA Club World Cup are single elimination, so Chelsea’s progression depends entirely on tonight’s match against

Benfica.

Benfica remain unbeaten, having defeated Auckland City and Bayern Munich in their group, with only a draw against Boca Juniors blemishing their record. Since halftime of that opening game, Benfica have kept a clean sheet and scored nine goals.

Chelsea will need to field their strongest possible lineup and perform at their best for this crucial match.

According to the We Ain’t Got No History community poll, the preferred Chelsea starting XI includes eight players receiving over 85% of the vote, two others with around two-thirds support, and one player narrowly making the cut with just over 50%.

The favored formation is 4-2-3-1 (71%):

  Goalkeeper: Sánchez (64%)
  Defenders: Cucurella (95%), Colwill (93%), Tosin (67%), James (85%)
  Midfielders: Enzo (87%), Caicedo (94%)
Attacking midfielders: Madueke (55%), Palmer (95%), Neto (92%)
  Forward: Delap (98%)

Others mentioned include Roméo Lavia and Trevoh Chalobah, each with 37%, while younger players Andrey Santos, Tyrique George, and Josh Acheampong received votes in the teens.
