CIIN Organizes Awareness Walk to Kick Off 2025 Insurance Week.
The Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN), alongside key players in the insurance industry, held a public awareness walk in Lagos on Saturday to mark th
e beginning of the 2025 Insurance Week.
The walk started at the Lagos headquarters of NEM Insurance Plc and concluded at the National Stadium in Surulere. It aimed to raise awareness about the importance of insurance and increase its reach among the general public.
Addressing participants, CIIN President and Council Chair, Mrs. Yetunde Ilori, emphasized that the event was more than a symbolic tradition. “This awareness walk is part of our effort to make insurance more understandable and accessible. It’s about building public trust and engaging with people on familiar terms,” she said.
Ilori also unveiled the activities lined up for the week, which include school outreach programs, a career fair, a public lecture, free health screenings, a mentorship roundtable for young professionals, and the highly anticipated Insurance Industry Gala Night.
The event transitioned into a fun-filled carnival featuring games and competitions. One highlight was a tug-of-war contest involving teams from leading insurance firms like NEM Insurance, Tangerine Insurance, and STACO Insurance.
Senior industry executive Mr. Jide Orimolade commended everyone involved in organizing and participating in the walk. “Today has shown the power of collaboration. This initiative clearly communicated that insurance is for everyone, and we’re proud of that message,” he said.
The day ended with awards and certificates presented to standout participants and teams.
