Delta Muslim Pilgrims Offer Prayers for Tinubu, Oborevwori, Okowa During Eid-el-Kabir.
Muslim pilgrims from Delta State, currently participating in the Hajj in Mecca, have offered prayers for President Bola T
inubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, and former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa. The prayers, made during the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, focused on seeking divine guidance, wisdom, and strength for the leaders.
Speaking at the pilgrimage, Alhaji Auwal Tukur, Chairman of the Delta State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Board, emphasized the importance of sacrifice and service to humanity, encouraging Muslims worldwide to live by the teachings of the Quran and the example of Prophet Abraham, who showed obedience to God.
Tukur called for national unity and peaceful coexistence, urging Nigerians to use the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir to show love and compassion regardless of ethnicity, religion, or social background. He described the Hajj as a significant opportunity to intercede for Nigeria and Delta State in particular.
He also expressed gratitude to Governor Oborevwori for supporting Muslims in Delta with provisions for the Eid celebration, and acknowledged the contributions of former Governor Okowa and the people of the state for their inclusive approach toward non-indigenes.
Addressing issues of insecurity, Tukur warned those involved in criminal activities in Delta State to desist, affirming that justice would soon catch up with them. He also praised the leadership of Governor Oborevwori and pledged full support from the Hausa and wider northern communities in Delta for his MORE Agenda.
Alhaji Abubakar Musa, the Chief Imam of Ekiti State, who led the prayers in Mecca, urged all Nigerians to collectively seek divine intervention to resolve the country’s challenges. He offered prayers specifically for Delta State’s leaders and asked for continued peace and development across the state.
