e this, DStv was inducted into the Brand Africa Hall of Fame, an honor given to iconic African brands that have significantly influenced the continent’s image and competitiveness.
The announcement was made at a ceremony held at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) in Addis Ababa, attended by key figures from across Africa’s media and branding sectors.
Since its launch in 1995, DStv has grown from a digital satellite TV pioneer to a major content provider, enhancing the African viewing experience through innovation, investment in local content, and a strong commitment to telling African stories.

The Brand Africa 100 survey is an independent study conducted in over 30 African countries, covering more than 85% of the continent’s population and GDP. It assesses thousands of brands through a rigorous research process involving several research partners.
DStv’s induction further solidifies its role not only as a media brand but also as a cultural influencer that shapes narratives and fosters pride across Africa. Through local productions, partnerships with African creators, and a focus on quality storytelling, DStv remains a leader in Africa’s creative economy.
