The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced that Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9, 2025, will be observed as public holidays in celebration of Eid-ul-Adha.
This announcement
was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who extended his congratulations to all Muslims in Nigeria and around the world. He urged the Muslim community to reflect on the values of sacrifice and faith, following the example of Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon him).
Dr. Tunji-Ojo also encouraged Nigerians to use the holiday period to pray for national peace and prosperity.
In a statement released through the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, the Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to reforms under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. He stated that these initiatives are aimed at steering the country toward growth and development.
Wishing the Muslim Ummah a joyful celebration, the Minister called on all citizens to support the administration’s efforts to restore Nigeria’s status as a great nation.
