Following Visits to Marte and Kala-Balge, Zulum Arrives in Wulgo.

  Wulgo, Borno State – May 21, 2025
Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, has extended his tour of conflict-hit areas by visiting Wulgo, a community recently attacked by Boko Haram insurgents. The town, situated near Lake Chad, had seen the withdrawal of the Multi-National Joint Task Force following the assault.

This visit follows the governor’s earlier stops in Marte and Kala-Balge  signaling his administration’s ongoing efforts to foster unity, improve security, and encourage local involvement in rebuilding efforts.

During his visit, Zulum met with community leaders, offering support and listening to their concerns. He pledged to:

* Expedite humanitarian relief efforts
* Enhance local security presence
* Provide tools for both irrigation and rain-fed agriculture to boost economic recovery

The governor highlighted the necessity of community-driven resilience and urged residents to actively participate in rebuilding their lives.

I came here to sympathize with you over the recent attacks,” Zulum said. “I urge you to remain strong. My administration will not allow Boko Haram to completely take over or force the abandonment of this town.
