Former Environment Minister Mohammed Abdullahi Resigns from APC in Nasarawa.
Ahead of the 2027 general elections, former Minister of Environment, Barrister Mohammed Hassan Abdullahi, has officially resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Abdullahi, who served in President Muhamm
adu Buhari’s cabinet, submitted his resignation on June 1 to the APC ward chairman in Uke, Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State. Copies of the letter were also sent to other party leaders, and he cited personal reasons for his decision.
A close associate, Samuel Akala, confirmed the development in Lafia, hinting that Abdullahi may soon align with a new political party, possibly to run for governor of Nasarawa State in the 2027 elections.
In his resignation letter, Abdullahi expressed appreciation for his time with the APC, thanking the party for its support. “I wish you and the party good luck,” he wrote.
Abdullahi has held key positions in the state, including serving as Secretary to the State Government under former Governor Tanko Al-Makura. His contributions during that period have been widely acknowledged.
His departure has sparked discussions within the APC in Nasarawa, where he remains a significant political figure with considerable grassroots support.
