Gov Radda Challenges Opposition Leaders on Fuel Subsidy, Governance Plans.
Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State has called on opposition coalition leaders to clearly state their positions on fuel subsidy and explain how they intend to manage the country if elected.
Speaking during an appearance, Radda questioned what the coalition would do differently from President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
This coalition what’s new about it? Who are the people in it? Haven’t they been part of other alliances before? What exactly will they do differently from the current administration?” he asked.
The governor specifically pressed opposition figures seeking to run under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to be transparent about their fuel subsidy policy.
“If they plan to bring back fuel subsidy, let them say so. If not, they should explain how they will govern and what resources they will use,” he added.
Radda criticized the coalition’s motivations, claiming their unity stems from being out of power rather than from offering credible alternatives.
Let’s be honest. The time for deceiving Nigerians is over. Many of them were part of the previous government. We know their records. Now they’re complaining because they’re no longer in power.”
He emphasized that Nigerians are open to new ideas, but only if they are realistic and sincere.
“If you bring something genuinely different, Nigerians will support it. But as politicians, we must hold ourselves accountable and be honest.”
The opposition alliance, formed on the ADC platform and led by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, includes political figures such as Peter Obi, David Mark, Rauf Aregbesola, and several former governors and lawmakers.
