Governor Alia Condemns Killing of Two Travellers Near Makurdi.

Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has strongly condemned the killing of two men from Kano State who were attacked by criminals

while passing through Agan community on the outskirts of Makurdi.

Describing the incident as brutal and unacceptable, Governor Alia directed security agencies to quickly apprehend the suspects and ensure they face justice.

Following the Governor’s orders, the Benue State Police Command arrested five individuals suspected to be involved in the attack.

The Governor expressed deep sorrow over the deaths of the two travellers, emphasizing that they were merely passing through the state when attacked. He highlighted the reputation of Benue people as hospitable and peaceful and insisted that such criminal acts must not be allowed to tarnish the state’s image.

Governor Alia extended condolences to his Kano State counterpart, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, noting that they had spoken earlier about the incident. He called for calm and assured that justice would be served swiftly.
