Hajj 2025: Over 32,000 Nigerian Pilgrims Airlifted to Saudi Arabia.

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced that 32,549 Nigerian pilgrims—representing 79.1% of this year’s total intending pilgrims—have been successfully transported to Saudi Arabia for the 2025 Hajj.

According to the commission, this milestone was achieved through 79 flight operations since airlifts began on May 9.

Several states have already completed their pilgrim airlifts, including Adamawa and Plateau. Others, such as Bauchi and Gombe, have only one flight remaining, with approximately 30 pilgrims each yet to depart.

In a statement issued by NAHCON’s Assistant Director of Information and Publication, Fatima Sanda Usara, it was noted that Jigawa State and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) were expected to complete their flights on Wednesday. Kwara State, which has 137 pilgrims remaining, is scheduled to conclude its airlift by joining a Kano-bound Max Air flight.

Meanwhile, pilgrims from Benue State will join their counterparts from the South-South region for a combined flight on May 23, marking the final phase of departures from that zone.

Significantly, NAHCON confirmed that there have been no flight cancellations since the airlift operations commenced.
