A prominent member of the New Nigeria Peoples Party and former Kano State Governor, Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, has raised serious concerns over the worsening violence in Plateau State.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, Kwankwaso expressed grief over the recent attack on Zike community in Kimakpa, Kwall District of Bassa LGA, which left 51 people dead and properties destroyed. He noted that this tragic incident came shortly after similar attacks in five other communities that also claimed over fifty lives within a week.
Kwankwaso highlighted the recurring violence in Plateau, pointing out that the state has suffered greatly from insecurity, with ongoing loss of lives and destruction of property discouraging investment and tourism. He warned that the state must not slide back into chaos after recently experiencing some peace.
He called on the Federal Government to take decisive action in protecting citizens and ensuring justice by bringing those responsible to account. He also urged residents of Plateau and Nigerians at large to embrace peace and unity.
In his message, he extended his heartfelt condolences to the people and government of Plateau State and emphasized the urgent need for lasting peace and security across the country.
