Over Owning Multiple Cars

Afrobeats artist Made Kuti has expressed his preference for simplicity rather than accumulating wealth, a value shaped by his upbringing with his father, the legendary Femi Kuti.

In a recent interview on the *Breakdown* podcast by Pulse, Made Kuti questioned the rationale behind owning several cars, pointing out that they are depreciating assets with little long-term benefit.

He emphasized that personal fulfillment matters more to him than material possessions, saying, “I find it strange to own so many cars. Materialism isn’t my priority.”

Reflecting on his mindset, he added, “I do what I want, and maybe my dad’s approach to raising us influenced me. I don’t understand why someone needs 7 or 8 cars. They lose value over time.”

While acknowledging that others might see it differently, he remains firm in valuing simplicity over material wealth.
