MURIC Commends Senator YAYI for Sponsoring 100 Pilgrims to Hajj.
The Ogun State chapter of the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has praised Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as YAYI, for his sponsorship of 100 Muslims to perform this year’s Hajj pilgrimage.
In a statement jointly issued by the State Chairman, Alhaji Tajudeen Alao, and State Secretary, Alhaji Rasheed Olaleye, the group described the gesture as both generous and spiritually meaningful.
“This act goes beyond financial support—it reflects a deep spiritual commitment and compassion,” the statement read. “At a time when many Nigerians are struggling with economic hardship, this initiative has brought renewed hope and joy to 100 Muslim families.”
MURIC emphasized the significance of Hajj as one of Islam’s five pillars, noting that Senator YAYI’s support made it possible for individuals who may never have had the opportunity to fulfill this important religious obligation.
“This is not just charity; it is leadership rooted in faith and empathy,” they added. “It’s an act that will not be forgotten—one that speaks volumes about Senator YAYI’s values and priorities.”
The group further highlighted the senator’s history of public service, especially his efforts in education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and community development. However, they noted that the Hajj sponsorship was particularly remarkable for its spiritual impact.
They concluded with a prayer for the senator’s continued well-being and called on other Muslim leaders and philanthropists to follow his example.
“Leadership should be measured by the lives it uplifts,” the statement said. “Senator YAYI will be remembered not just for the offices he has held, but for the hearts he has touched and the prayers he has inspired.”
