Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has predicted that Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), will soon return to the APC.
Speaking while receiving members of the Tinubu Support Group (TSG) at the APC national secretariat in Abuja on Tuesday, Ganduje also dismissed the current alliance efforts by opposition leaders aimed at challenging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections, saying such moves would eventually fail.
He emphasized that the APC is open to welcoming back Kwankwaso and other key opposition figures. Citing the recent influx of influential politicians and lawmakers into the ruling party, Ganduje attributed Kwankwaso’s possible return to the declining influence of the NNPP, which he described as “practically dead.”
“The NNPP is finished and will be buried soon,” he said. “The coffin is ready, and the grave is being dug. Even the so-called NNPP national leader wants to return to us. We’ll gladly receive him—he’s simply coming back home.
