NYSC DG Urges Corps Members to Embrace Postings, Warns Against Misconduct.

igadier General Olakunle Nafiu, has encouraged corps members to accept their postings with a positive mindset and settle into their assigned communities, contributing meaningfully to national development.

During an address to members of the 2025 Batch ‘A’ Stream 2 at the Lagos State Orientation Camp in Iyana-Ipaja, Nafiu emphasized the importance of adapting to and respecting the culture and traditions of their host communities, noting that every region in Nigeria offers unique cultural value.

He cautioned corps members to steer clear of misconduct, warning that any violation of NYSC rules or the Nigerian Constitution would be dealt with strictly.

“You’ve answered the call to serve. Now, show your patriotism by being diligent in your duties. Do not travel at night or without official permission,” he advised.

In her briefing to the DG, Lagos State NYSC Coordinator Christianah Salmwang reported that 3,212 corps members were registered at the Lagos camp—1,250 males and 1,960 females. She added that thousands more had been temporarily reassigned to other states due to capacity limits:

. Kwara: 465 males, 651 females
  Ekiti: 502 males, 723 females
  Ondo: 291 males, 400 females
  Osun: 722 males, 921 females

This brings the total number of corps members deployed to Lagos State to 7,887.
