Oyo Advisory Council Praises Makinde’s Circular Road Project.
The Oyo State Advisory Council has praised Governor Seyi Makinde for his commitment to improving road infrastructure as p
art of the state’s economic development strategy.
Chairman of the council, Bolaji Ayorinde (SAN), made these remarks during a visit to the ongoing construction of the 110-kilometre Senator Rashidi Ladoja Circular Road. The inspection took place on Wednesday, and a statement was released Thursday by Sulaimon Olanrewaju, Special Adviser to the Governor on Media.
Ayorinde commended the project’s quality and progress, describing it as a major initiative aimed at reducing traffic in Ibadan, encouraging economic activity, and supporting the growth of real estate and hospitality sectors. He noted that the road will also serve as a key link connecting Oyo to other parts of Nigeria.
He said, “The pace and standard of work are impressive. This project, initially conceptualized by previous administrations, is being brought to life under Governor Makinde. It’s reassuring to see that the promise made before he assumed office is being fulfilled.”
Ayorinde added that the road has already helped open up a new town and will enable travelers to bypass central Ibadan, further easing traffic and boosting commerce.
He urged residents to support the government by making good use of the infrastructure once completed, saying, “The people must take ownership of the project and help maintain it.”
The inspection tour was led by the state Commissioner for Works and Transport, Mojeed Mogbojubola. The delegation visited various segments of the project, including areas within the Oluyole, Ona-Ara, and Egbeda Local Government Areas, starting from the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
Other members of the Advisory Council present during the visit included Babatunde Oduyoye, Bashir Ajibade, Adewale Atande, Abiola Ajaja, Aderemi Ayodele, Akinade Alamu, and Rasak Gbadegesin.
