Paris Court to Deliver Verdict in Kim Kardashian Robbery Case.

Nearly ten years after Kim Kardashian was tied up at gunpoint during a dramatic robbery in Paris, a French court is expected to deliver its verdict on Friday in what has been described as one of the boldest celebrity heists in modern France.

The case involves nine men and one woman accused of participating in the 2016 crime during Paris Fashion Week, where assailants disguised as police officers entered Kardashian’s private residence, restrained her with zip-ties, and stole about \$6 million worth of jewelry.

Aomar Aït Khedache, a 70-year-old believed to be a long-time figure in Paris’s criminal scene, is at the center of the case. Prosecutors have requested a 10-year sentence, citing DNA evidence linking him to the scene and wiretaps that allegedly captured him organizing the crime and planning to sell the stolen gems in Belgium. The stolen items have never been recovered.

Khedache insists he was not the leader, instead shifting blame to a person referred to as “X” or “Ben,” whom authorities say doesn’t exist.

Dubbed “les papys braqueurs” (the grandpa robbers) by the French media due to their advanced ages, the defendants appeared frail in court — some wore orthopedic shoes, others relied on canes. Despite their appearance, prosecutors warned the court not to underestimate their criminal pasts.

The case is being decided by three judges and six jurors, with a majority vote needed to reach a verdict. The charges include armed robbery, kidnapping, and criminal conspiracy. A conviction could result in life imprisonment.

Kardashian’s emotional testimony earlier this month was a pivotal moment in the trial. She described the night of October 2, 2016, when she believed she would die. She recalled being zip-tied, dragged to a marble bathroom, and held at gunpoint. Once the attackers fled, she managed to free herself and hid, barefoot and shaken.

The attack marked a turning point in how celebrities share their lives publicly. Kardashian, known for her real-time social media presence and luxury displays, significantly reduced her online activity after the incident. She stopped tagging her locations in real time and avoided returning to Paris for years. Her decision influenced other public figures to be more cautious about their digital footprints.

Defense lawyers have requested leniency due to the age and health of the defendants, but prosecutors argue that experience, not vulnerability, defined their actions.

Before the court deliberates, the accused will have a final opportunity to address the judges. Observers have noted the unusually long delay in bringing the case to trial, even by French legal standards.

Kardashian has said the incident fundamentally altered her life. She hopes the verdict will bring some closure.
