Paul Pogba Criticizes Juventus Over Lack of Support During Doping Ban.
Paul Pogba has spoken publicly about the challenges he faced during his doping suspension and expressed disappointment in Juventus for not supporting him throughout the ordeal.
The former Manchester United and Juventus midfielder initially received a four-year doping ban in February 2024. However, after an appeal, the suspension was reduced to 18 months.
Ahead of his expected move to Monaco, Pogba discussed the emotional toll of the suspension in an interview with TF1’s Sept à Huit. He criticized Juventus for their silence during a difficult period in his life.
“I didn’t deserve that. They didn’t stand by me. That really hurt,” Pogba said. “I felt like I was fighting anti-doping authorities, not Juventus. It was shocking a four-year ban without explanation, without anyone hearing my side.”
He also described the personal impact of being unable to play and how it affected his family life.
“I had to leave Italy. My kids were near the training center, and I couldn’t bear passing the stadium every day. They would ask me, ‘Dad, when are you going to play? When can we go to the stadium?’ I told them ‘soon,’ even though I knew it might not be for a while.”
