Peter Okoye Responds Strongly to Brother Jude’s Cryptic Instagram Post.
A new dispute has emerged within the Okoye family as Nigerian singer Peter Okoye, formerly part of the duo PSquare, reacted sharply to a vague post by his older brother and former manager, Jude Okoye.
Jude took to Instagram on Friday to accuse unnamed individuals who, according to him, became successful through his platform but later turned against him out of greed. He claimed these people left to seek independence but eventually “fell off” and blamed him for their failures. Jude also alleged that attempts were made to blackmail him with false accusations of money laundering and fraud aimed at imprisoning him.
Peter Okoye responded via X (formerly Twitter), dismissing his brother’s claims and criticizing Jude for trying to diminish his success. He emphasized that respect must be earned, not given based on age, and noted that Jude had wished him ill, including telling EFCC officials Peter was broke—a claim that backfired, leading to Jude’s own imprisonment.
Peter refuted the idea that Jude had “shouldered” his career, stating Jude was merely employed as the group’s manager and was fired like previous managers. He highlighted that his solo career has been more financially rewarding and personally fulfilling than his time with PSquare, which involved splitting income three ways with his twin brother Paul and Jude.
Addressing ongoing legal disputes, Peter challenged Jude to answer if he is guilty of theft. He declared he will no longer tolerate disrespect and stressed the importance of responding to negativity with equal force.
This exchange highlights ongoing family tensions that have troubled the Okoye brothers since PSquare’s split in 2017. Although Peter and Paul briefly reconciled in 2021, conflicts involving Jude have persisted.
