Plateau Governor Imposes Ban on Night Grazing, Limits Movement Following Killings

In response to a series of deadly attacks in Plateau State, including a recent assault on Zikwe Village and earlier violence in Bokkos that claimed over 50 lives, Governor Caleb Mutfwang has introduced new security measures. These include a ban on night grazing and cattle transport after 7 PM, as well as a statewide restriction on motorcycle movement between 7 PM and 6 AM. Hospitals in the affected areas will provide free treatment to victims, and relief materials are being distributed.

The governor praised emergency and security teams for their quick response and thanked President Tinubu for his support. He called on community leaders to revive local vigilante patrols in collaboration with security forces. Mutfwang expressed deep sympathy for the victims’ families and urged residents to stay united, calm, and vigilant as the state works towards restoring peace and justice.
