Police Transfer Enenche Enenche to Keffi Prison Over Cyberstalking Charges Involving Pastor Paul Enenche.

Peter Obonyilo Enenche, widely known as Enenche Enenche, has been transferred by Nigerian police from Zone 7 Police Headquarters in Abuja to Keffi Correctional Fa

cility in Nasarawa State. This move follows his arrest and ongoing trial related to allegations of cyberstalking and defamation involving Pastor Paul Enenche of Dunamis International Gospel Centre.

Enenche was last seen publicly at the birthday celebration of Senator Abba Moro on Thursday, July 3, 2025, before being taken into custody. He spent the night at Zone 7 Police Command before being moved to Keffi Prison the following day.

      Legal Proceedings and Background

The case against Enenche Enenche stems from a criminal defamation complaint filed by Pastor Paul Enenche and a former church associate, Abraham Daniel. During a hearing on June 26, 2025, Magistrate Emmanuel A. Iyanna of the Wuse Zone 6 Magistrate Court had questioned the absence of Enenche and instructed his surety to explain why the bail bond should not be forfeited or why he shouldn’t be held responsible.

The prosecution, led by counsel Chima Chukwu, argued for the revocation of bail after the defendant’s failure to appear. Enenche’s lawyer, Dr. S. M. Oyeghe, objected, stating that since the bail had already been revoked and an arrest warrant issued, responsibility for locating the defendant should fall on the prosecution, not the surety.

Despite the defense’s objections, the court upheld the order for the surety to show cause and rescheduled the next hearing for July 29, when both Pastor Paul Enenche and another complainant, Paul Adama, are expected to testify.

Before this, the defendants had petitioned the Chief Judge of the FCT, accusing Magistrate Iyanna of bias and calling for his recusal, citing a perceived relationship with Pastor Enenche. The court denied the motion for recusal but granted the prosecution’s request to revoke Enenche’s bail.

Back in March, the prosecution had already sought bail revocation, accusing Enenche of publicly criticizing the magistrate and engaging with the media in violation of his bail terms. On May 28, Magistrate Iyanna officially revoked Enenche’s bail, emphasizing the legal obligation to obey court orders and calling out what he described as the defendant’s disrespectful behavior.

Despite the bail revocation, Enenche questioned why the court was now involving his surety. A source close to the case described the situation as potentially vindictive and oppressive.
