**Prosecution Closes Case in Nnamdi Kanu’s Terrorism Trial**

On Thursday, June 19, 2025, the prosecution in the terrorism trial of Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), formally closed its case after presenting five witnesses.

Lead prosecutor, Adegboyega Awomolo (SAN), announced the conclusion of the prosecution’s case following the testimony of the fifth witness. Awomolo stated that the evidence presented and exhibits submitted were sufficient to support the charges against Kanu.

In response, Kanu’s lead defence counsel, Kanu Agabi (SAN), revealed that the defence intends to file a no-case submission, arguing that the prosecution has not established a case that requires a defence.

Further proceedings are expected to follow once the defence submits its motion.
