Real Madrid Finalize Two Additional Signings, Announcements Imminent.

Real Madrid have completed deals for two more summer signings, following their earlier agreement for Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen. These new acquisitions will push their total spending for the summer beyond €100 million.

The first of the two is Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold. The 26-year-old has agreed personal terms with the club, and a final deal has been reached with Liverpool. He is expected to join in time for the Club World Cup, with the official announcement likely coming next week. Reports suggest the transfer fee is around €5 million.

The second signing is Benfica left-back Álvaro Carreras. The 22-year-old has agreed a five-year contract and will return to Madrid, where he previously spent part of his youth career. Talks with Benfica began recently after their season ended, and Madrid are prepared to meet his €50 million release clause—possibly paid in instalments. Initial negotiations started at €40 million.

Both players are set to strengthen the squad under Xabi Alonso for the upcoming Club World Cup, addressing defensive issues that plagued the team throughout the season.

With these signings nearly complete, Real Madrid are expected to shift focus to reinforcing their midfield. The club hasn’t brought in any midfielders since signing Jude Bellingham and Arda Güler, who have mostly played in advanced roles. The exits of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos mean that Dani Ceballos is likely to remain with the team.
