Nollywood actress Rosy Meurer has publicly refuted allegations cir
culating online that her husband, Olakunle Churchill, is abusive. Taking to social media, Meurer dismissed the rumours, emphasizing that Churchill has never been violent toward her.
She stressed the importance of telling one’s own story to counter misinformation, stating, “If you don’t speak for yourself, others will shape your story however they like.” Meurer said she typically avoids addressing online gossip but felt compelled to respond this time due to the impact such claims could have on her family and those who look up to her.
I have a family and children who matter to me,” she wrote. “This is my life—no one else gets to narrate it. My husband is not abusive. These accusations are baseless and recycled lies from the past.
Addressing online critics who have speculated about problems in her marriage, Meurer said, “People praying for trouble in my marriage should look in their own homes. It’s laughable.” She added that her husband is not the type to even finish a sentence forcefully, let alone raise his hand to a woman.
Churchill also responded, brushing off the rumours with humor. Sharing that his family is currently on vacation at Disneyland Paris, he quipped that those anticipating a breakup would have to “wait until menopause.
Rosy Meurer, born in The Gambia, is a Nigerian actress best known for her roles in Oasis (2014) and Merry Men: The Real Yoruba Demons (2018). She and Churchill married in 2019 and have two children together.
