Saraki Responds to Tinubu: PDP Will Resolve Its Issues.
Former Senate President Bukola Saraki has responded to President Bola Tinubu’s remarks about the internal struggles within Nigeria’s opposition parties, particularly
the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Saraki acknowledged that the PDP is indeed experiencing internal challenges but expressed confidence that the party will resolve them.
During his Democracy Day speech, President Tinubu commented on the disorganization among opposition parties, saying, “It is a joy to see the opposition in disarray. I will not help you put your house in order.”
He also dismissed allegations that his administration is pushing Nigeria toward a one-party system through coordinated defections to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Shortly after the event at the National Assembly, Saraki addressed journalists and urged opposition parties to focus on internal reforms. He emphasized the importance of a functioning multi-party democracy.
We must take him at his word when he says he’s not interested in a one-party state. We believe in a multi-party system, and that’s why we’re working to bring everyone together,” Saraki said. “There’s no pressure. We’ll take responsibility and put our house in order.
