Secondus: Sole Administrator Turning Rivers State into a Ticking Time Bomb

Former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, has criticized the actions of Vice Admiral Ibok-Ette Ibas, the Sole Administrator of Rivers State, warning that his approach is putting the state in a dangerous position.

Secondus cautioned those manipulating the state’s affairs and acting as though they control its destiny to be mindful of divine consequences. He called on President Bola Tinubu to heed reason and reinstate the suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara, who he said holds a legitimate mandate from the people.

In his Easter message, conveyed by his media adviser Ike Abonyi, Secondus urged Nigerians to pray for divine intervention in the country’s challenges. He expressed sorrow over the state of affairs in Rivers, claiming the situation has placed the state on “the wrong side of history” due to what he described as the excessive control of resources by a single individual.

Secondus commended the Ijaw nation for remaining composed despite provocations, highlighting their importance as one of the major ethnic groups in Nigeria.

Addressing the broader issue of insecurity spreading across the country, he emphasized the power of persistent prayer, describing divine intervention as the ultimate solution. He encouraged Christians to embody love, humility, and unity during the Easter period and to reflect on the hope that comes with Christ’s resurrection.

Secondus also urged Nigerians to promote peaceful coexistence regardless of religious, ethnic, or political differences. He called on political leaders to act with the fear of God, allowing justice and fairness to guide their decisions.
