Controversial artist Darlington Okoye, known as Speed Darlington, has called for a rematch following his second-round knockout defeat to fellow singer Badmus Okikiola, popularly known as Portable. The match, dubbed *Chaos In The Ring*, took place Saturday morning at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Lagos.
Tensions between the two intensified prior to the fight after Speed Darlington reportedly offered Portable ₦500,000 to perform at an event—an amount Portable allegedly considered disrespectful.
In a video released later that day, Speed Darlington argued that Portable did not deserve the prize money from the match. He expressed frustration, stating that he planned to use the money to build a swimming pool for his community in Imo State.
Portable, I want a rematch. It hurts to see you walk away with all that money. It breaks my heart. You have experience, I don’t. I’ve never been in the ring before,” he said.
He also repeated claims that Portable may have used voodoo to win, and mentioned that his shoulder was dislocated during the match, although he didn’t feel tired. Speed Darlington has asked for at least 30 days to prepare for a potential rematch.
