Super Eagles Defeat Ghana 2–1 in Unity Cup Semi-Final, ANFASSC Steals the Show.
Nigeria’s Super Eagles secured a 2–1 victory over Ghana’s Black Stars in the semi-finals of the 2025 Unity Cup, held at the G
tech Community Stadium in London.
The match began with an early goal from Cyriel Dessers in the 14th minute, following a well-executed team move. Nigeria extended their lead shortly afterward when Ghanaian defender Razak Simpson scored an own goal under pressure. Ghana responded with a goal in the second half, but Nigeria maintained their lead to advance to the final.
Beyond the on-pitch action, the Authentic Nigeria Football and Allied Sports Supporters Club (ANFASSC) played a key role in energizing the stadium. With traditional drums, coordinated chants, and vibrant attire, the group transformed the atmosphere, showing strong support throughout the match.
ANFASSC National President, Prince Abayomi Ogunjimi, praised both the players and fans, calling the game a symbol of unity and national pride. “Our players delivered on the field, and our supporters matched that energy from the stands,” he said.
Nigeria will now face Jamaica in the Unity Cup final, scheduled for tomorrow at the same venue. ANFASSC has pledged its continued support for the team.
