The event was held on Wednesday at Amuro Primary School in Afikpo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
President Bola Tinubu, who was represented by Governor Francis Nwifuru, expressed appreciation to the South-East people for their ongoing support and encouraged them to stay committed. He assured that the highway would be completed on schedule and in line with all required standards.
Governor Nwifuru emphasized the importance of the project, describing it as vital to fulfilling the region’s hopes and ambitions.
He extended heartfelt gratitude to President Tinubu, praising the impact of the Renewed Hope Agenda, which he said is becoming evident across the nation.
“This project exemplifies the President’s commitment to using infrastructure to drive national growth and development. Our continued support for his administration is our way of showing appreciation,” Nwifuru stated.
He further highlighted the transformative potential of the road, noting that as a landlocked state with rich resources in agriculture, minerals, and trade, Ebonyi has long suffered from poor connectivity.
“But today, we begin a new era,” he said. “This project is a turning point—for our farmers, it means quicker access to both regional and national markets. It’s a true game-changer.”
