Tinubu Swears In New NNPCL Board.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially inaugurated the newly reconstituted board of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL). At the ceremony held at the State House in Abuja, Tinubu appointed Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari as the Group Chief Executive Officer and Ahmadu Musa Kida as the Non-Executive Chairman.

The swearing-in took place shortly before the President attended the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Summit at the Banquet Hall.

The new 11-member board reflects Nigeria’s diverse geopolitical landscape and includes individuals with significant industry experience. Appointees include:

  Adedapo Segun and Bello Rabiu representing the North West
Yusuf Usman for the North East
  Babs Omotowa, former NLNG Managing Director, for the North Central
  Austin Avuru as Non-Executive Director from the South-South
  David Ige representing the South-West
  Henry Obih for the South-East

  Mrs. Lydia Shehu Jafiya, Permanent Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Finance, joins as the ministry’s representative.   Aminu Said Ahmed will represent the Ministry of Petroleum Resources.

Several top government officials attended the swearing-in, including:

    Wale Edun, Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy
    Mohammed Idris, Minister of Information and National Orientation
    Senator Heineken Lokpobir, Minister of State for Petroleum (Gas)

These appointments officially came into effect on April 2, 2025
