Tottenham Submit £70m Bid for Bryan Mbeumo, Outbidding Manchester United.
Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly made a significant move in the s
ummer transfer window, offering £70 million to sign Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo—an amount that surpasses Manchester United’s earlier bid.
The 25-year-old Cameroon international, who scored 20 Premier League goals last season, had been closely linked with a move to United. However, Spurs have entered the race strongly following the appointment of Thomas Frank—Mbeumo’s former manager at Brentford—as their new head coach.
According to The Mirror, Spurs’ technical director Johan Lange has tabled an offer of £65 million upfront with an additional £5 million in performance-related bonuses. This offer reportedly exceeds Manchester United’s rejected bid of £45 million plus £10 million in add-ons, as reported by The Manchester Evening News.
Thomas Frank previously hinted that Mbeumo would command a high transfer fee but didn’t specify an amount. While Mbeumo is still said to favour a move to Old Trafford, his long-standing relationship with Frank may influence his decision.
If the deal goes through, Mbeumo would become Frank’s first signing as Tottenham manager.
