Trade Ministry, NGX Group Partner to Boost Economic Growth.
The Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX Group) recently hosted Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, to discuss using capital markets to support Nigeria’s economic development.
The meeting ended with a ceremonial Closing Gong, symbolising a new partnership aimed at industrial growth, SME financing, and sustainable development.
NGX Group Chairman Umaru Kwairanga praised the Ministry’s efforts in promoting industrialisation, noting the capital market’s vital role in funding MSMEs, infrastructure, and green initiatives. NGX Chairman Ahonsi Unuigbe also highlighted the Exchange’s importance in driving innovation and inclusive growth.
Dr. Oduwole outlined plans to expand SME access to funding, boost green finance, attract diaspora investment, and leverage AfCFTA opportunities. NGX CEO Temi Popoola added that the group is focused on a tech-driven exchange to improve investment access and market liquidity.
The event gathered capital market stakeholders who pledged continued support for economic transformation through strategic collaboration.
