Umahi: All South-East Governors Now Backing Tinubu.

Nigeria’s Minister of Works, Senator Dave Umahi, has revealed that all governors from the South-East geopolitical zone are now supporting President Bola Tinubu. He urged others, particularly Peter Obi, to join in for the sake of regional development and unity.

Speaking in a State House interview ahead of Tinubu’s second anniversary, Umahi noted a shift in federal attention to the South-East under Tinubu’s administration. According to him, long-standing concerns about marginalisation are being addressed through key appointments and infrastructure investments.

We now have real projects on the ground—roads, bridges, and ongoing federal developments. The South-East is being integrated like never before,” Umahi said.

Highlighting major projects such as the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, Umahi announced that over 80% of Section 1 is near completion, with tolling to begin in December. He also cited progress on the Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway and the revived Trans-Saharan Trade Route as evidence of Tinubu’s broader development agenda.

Umahi stated that regional leaders are planning a summit to formally endorse Tinubu for the 2027 election, urging Peter Obi to participate: “If someone is doing for the people what you would have done, support him.”

He described Tinubu’s infrastructure vision as transformative, economically strategic, and a sign of commitment to Nigeria’s unity and future.
