Wike pledges to lead PDP campaign in Rivers for 2027 elections.
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has reaffirmed his commitment to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and announce
d his intention to lead the party’s campaign in Rivers State for the 2027 general elections. This comes despite his current role in the APC-led federal government.
Speaking in Abuja, Wike addressed doubts about his loyalty, emphasizing his significant contributions to the PDP. He stated, “I am still in PDP. I worked hard for the party. No one can say I’m not a member or has contributed more than me.”
He insisted that no one will remove him from the party and confirmed, “I will lead the PDP campaign in Rivers in 2027.”
Responding to accusations of disloyalty, the former governor of Rivers State said his dedication to the party remains strong and his influence unshaken.
On his role as FCT Minister, Wike expressed pride in challenging established interests and shaking up the system in Abuja. He noted that previous ministers lacked the courage to take tough decisions, but he welcomes pushing boundaries, even if it means upsetting powerful figures.
