Woli Arole: Pregnancy is a Blessing, Surrogacy Should Be a Last Resort.
Comedian and actor Woli Arole has expressed strong views on surrogacy, criticizing women who choose
it despite being physically capable of carrying a pregnancy. In a message shared, he argued that childbirth is a divine responsibility and not a lifestyle choice.
Arole described pregnancy as a sacred gift from God and urged women to embrace it rather than reject it due to modern social influences. He emphasized that, unless there are genuine medical reasons such as infertility or health risks women should not view surrogacy or IVF as mere alternatives to natural childbirth.
He challenged the idea of bodily autonomy in this context, stating that a woman’s body is a temple meant to fulfill a divine purpose, not something to be governed by personal preference.
“It is a blessing for a woman to carry her baby in her womb. That’s how God designed it,” Arole said. “Don’t let modern thinking distract you. Unless there’s a medical reason, surrogacy or IVF shouldn’t just be a choice. Your body is God’s temple.”
While Woli Arole has previously supported the importance of women having a voice in marriage stressing that being a helpmate doesn’t mean silence his recent comments have sparked discussion about the balance between religious beliefs and personal choice in reproductive decisions.
