🕋 2025 Hajj: NAHCON to Conclude Return Flights by July 2.

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced a revised date for the completion of return airlifts for the 2025 Hajj pilgrims. The process, or

iginally expected to end by June 28, is now set to conclude on Tuesday, July 2, 2025.

According to a statement from Fatima Usara, Assistant Director of Information and Publication at NAHCON, the extension is due to earlier delays caused by airspace congestion and flight cancellations, although recent improvements have been noted.

Usara stated that from June 22, Nigerian carriers were granted increased daily flight slots up to seven flights per day, distributed in a 2-2-2-1 pattern across the airlines involved. However, despite these gains, completing all return journeys by the original deadline became unrealistic.

As of now, over 27,316 Nigerian pilgrims have returned from Saudi Arabia out of the total 41,668 who made the pilgrimage. This number excludes those who opted for regular commercial flights to return early due to personal circumstances.

Here’s the breakdown of remaining pilgrims by airline:

Max Air: 6,019 pilgrims remaining. The airline operates two wide-bodied aircraft with a combined daily capacity of 1,120.
UMZA Aviation Services: 4,850 passengers left. Flights are split between two aircraft with 484 and 312 seats, respectively.
FlyNas: 2,480 pilgrims still to be airlifted, with a daily capacity of 819.
Air Peace: 1,635 pilgrims left, served by an aircraft with 315 seats.

NAHCON has reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safe and timely return of all pilgrims, emphasizing that they are doing everything possible to avoid further delays.
